Late goal gives Hawks a 1-1 tie at UMSL

Senior midfielder Kaden Cripe scored in the 87th minute to rally Rockhurst to a 1-1 tie against Missouri-St. Louis Friday night in St. Louis, Missouri.

Cripe knocked a shot from six yards out past the Triton goalkeeper for his first goal of the season. Asier Olano and Jack Dean assisted on the game-tying goal with 3:41 left in the game.

The Tritons (0-1-3, 0-0-2 GLVC) took a 1-0 in the first minute of the second half on a chip shot to the left side of the goal.

Rockhurst finished with 13 shots, while UMSL posted 11 shots. Cripe led the Hawks with five shots (three on goal). Wayoro, Rhys Laws and Sam McIntosh each collected two shots.

Franco Briani Brunoro posted two saves for the Hawks.

The Hawks (2-2-1, 1-0-1 GLVC) return home to play at Maryville Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
