Rollins holds off Hawks for 3-1 win

The Rockhurst women's volleyball team fell in four sets to Rollins on Friday at the Denali State Bank Ice Block Classic.

The Hawks won the third set, 25-23. The Tars won the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-21, and took the fourth set, 25-21.

Sarah Pyle led the Hawks with 15 kills and 13 digs. Alyssa McDonald posted 14 kills and four blocks. Delaney Hope and Riley Hays each had four blocks.

Molly Trachta (28) and Mary Kate Mulvaney (24) combined for 52 assists. Katie Vargo added 11 digs.

Rockhurst collected 55 kills, eight service aces, nine blocks, 54 assists and 49 digs.

The Hawks (4-2) wrap up the Denali State Bank Ice Block Challenge on Saturday, facing Alaska Anchorage at 2 p.m. CDT and Alaska Fairbanks at 10 p.m. CDT.
