Hawks edge UMSL to move on to GLVC tourney finals

Rockhurst held on to post a 4-3 victory over Missouri-St. Louis for the its eighth consecutive win in the semifinals of the GLVC Men's Tennis Tournament Saturday in Springfield, Illinois.

The 43rd-ranked Hawks (14-5) will face 17th-ranked Indianapolis (18-3) in the GLVC Championship match Sunday at 1 p.m. in Springfield, Illinois.

For the second straight week, freshman Dylan Rainwater won the deciding match in three sets in No. 6 singles. He won the final two sets, 6-4 and 6-4, over UMSL's Joan Garros.

Semyon Tsyrenov won in No. 1 singles, 6-1 and 6-3. Louis Keiner rallied for a three-set win in No. 2 singles. Creed Skinner and Alex Tikhonov fell in three sets in No. 3 and 4 singles.

Keiner and Josef Truhlar won No. 1 doubles, 6-3. Skinner and Tsyrerov were 6-4 winners in No. 2 doubles.
