Hawks fall to No. 7 Indy in GLVC semifinals, 12-9

Rockhurst led three different times in the first half before seventh-ranked Indianapolis pulled away in the second half for a 12-9 win in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament Friday in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Hawks (13-4) will await the announcement of the NCAA Division II Tournament bracket Sunday night. Rockhurst was ranked fifth in the Midwest Region in this week's poll as the top six teams earn bids to the national tournament.

Indy ended the game on a 5-2 run over the final 20 minutes after the Hawks tied the game at 7-7 on a goal by Elise Magee at the 5:31 mark in the third quarter.

  • Kaylee Lary was named to the All-Tournament team. She led the Hawks with four goals, two ground balls and one caused turnover.
  • Kylee Pickens collected eight draw controls, two ground balls, two caused turnovers and one goal.
  • Elise Magee scored two goals and four draw controls.
  • Rhea Spiers added one goal, one assist and one ground ball.
  • Mae Beins finished with seven saves and three ground balls.
