Hawks post 8-2 win over 13th-ranked Lewis

Jackson Dearing came out of the bullpen to win his third game of the season and Adonis Forte drove in three runs to lead Rockhurst to an 8-2 victory over 13th-ranked Lewis Friday night at Loyola Park.

Dearing relieved starter Gavyn Dockery in the top of the fourth. He held Lewis to two runs on five hits over five innings while striking out five.

Forte hit a two-run home run to right-center in the fifth and tripled home Michael Laudando in the seventh for his third hit to give the Hawks a 5-1 lead.

Cole Wagner had two hits, one stolen base and drove in two runs. Michael Laudando posted two hits, one stolen base and scored two runs. Andrew Loeffelman hit a two-run single in the seventh.

Rockhurst (21-20, 11-14 GLVC) continues the Lewis series with a noon doubleheader on Saturday.
