Men finish sixth at GLVC Championship

Kingston Solomon tied for ninth place

The Rockhurst men's golf team finished in sixth place at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Championship Monday at the Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar, Missouri.

The Hawks shot a 296 and 288 on the second day, while opening with a 298 on the first day to finish with a 54-hole score of 882.

Kingston Solomon tied for ninth place to lead the Hawks. He posted 12 birdies and finished with a 218 score over 54 holes. He shot 71 and 70 in the final two rounds after opening with a 77 in the first round.

David Schilp and Elijah Shirley tied for 19th at 221. Mike Wolski (tied for 39th, 227), Ben Elgas (tied for 47th, 230) and Ashton Vinton (62nd, 235) rounded out the Rockhurst golfers.

Missouri-St. Louis finished first in stroke play at 864, followed by Missouri S&T at 871. Lewis was third at 872, while Indianapolis was fourth at 880. Those four advance to medal/match play on Tuesday.
