Offense carries Hawks to 9-4 win at UMSL

Four players combined for eight hits and seven RBI to lead Rockhurst to a 9-4 victory over Missouri-St. Louis Friday in St. Louis.

The Hawks scored three runs in the third inning to take a 3-2 lead. Rockhurst jumped out to a 9-2 lead with two runs in the fifth and four runs in the sixth.

Michael Laudando led the Hawks with two hits, three runs and four RBI. Laudando hit a two-run single in the third and added an RBI single in the fifth.

Matthew Brimacombe collected with two hits and scored three runs. Adonis Forte and Avery Garmon each posted two hits. In the fifth, Forte had an RBI single and Garmon drove in two runs with a double.

Gavyn Dockery (3-0) allowed four hits and four runs with four strikeouts in 5.2 innings. Jake Canent picked up his first save of the season, holding the Tritons scoreless on one hit over 3.1 innings.

The Hawks (17-15, 7-10 GLVC) play at doubleheader at Missouri-St. Louis at noon Saturday.
