Hawks drop second one-run game in Florida

The Rockhurst baseball team suffered their second one-run loss in Florida, falling to Tiffin 6-5 Sunday in Davenport, Florida.

The Hawks fell behind 5-1 in the fourth inning. Tiffin scored three unearned runs in the second and collected a pair of sacrifice flies in the fourth.

Patrick Wind hit a two-run home run to left in the seventh to cut Tiffin's lead to 5-3. Drew Cornelison homered to center in the ninth to draw within one run of the Dragons.

Cole Wagner posted two of the Hawks' six hits. Andrew Loeffelman singled home a run in the first.

Jake Canent (2-1) allowed two earned runs on nine hits with three strikeouts over 5.0 innings.

The Hawks (9-4) close out their Florida trip against Minnesota Duluth on Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET.
