Hawks rally for 7-6 win over Minnesota Duluth

The Rockhurst baseball team ended their Florida spring break trip with a 7-6 victory over Minnesota Duluth Wednesday in Davenport, Florida.

Andrew Loeffelman posted two hits and two RBI to lead the seven-hit Rockhurst attack. He tied the game at 1-1 with an RBI double in the first inning.

The Hawks scored four runs in the third to take a 5-2 lead. Michael Laudando doubled to open the inning and was singled home by Loeffelman. Rockhurst benefitted from two hit batters, one walk and one error to score the other three runs.

Rockhurst rallied from a 6-5 deficit to score two runs in the seventh on an RBI single by Avery Garmon and a wild pitch.

Brandon Hebrank (1-0) shut down Duluth on two hits with three strikeouts over two innings to get the win. Brendan Rodis pitched the ninth to pick up his second save of the season.

The Hawks (10-4) open conference play at home Friday night against Drury.
