Afton Koch hit a two-run pinch hit double to left field in the top of the eighth inning to give Rockhurst a 5-4 victory over Minnesota Crookston Friday in Davenport, Florida.
The Hawks scored four runs on five hits in the eighth to rally from a 4-1 deficit. Avery Garmon had an RBI single to left field and Austin Murray drove in a run with an infield single.
Andrew Loeffelman led the Hawks with three hits and scored a run in the eighth. Garmon collected two hits. Michael Laudando drove in Rockhurst's first run with an infield single in the fifth.
Laudando (3-0) allowed four runs on 11 hits with six strikeouts over 7.0 innings. Brandon Hebrank pitched two scoreless innings to record his first save of the season.
In the Hawks' first game on Thursday in Florida, Gannon held off a late rally by Rockhurst to edge the Hawks, 5-4, in Winter Haven.
The Hawks scored three runs in the top of the eighth to cut into Gannon's 5-1 lead. Adonis Forte hit an RBI double to make it 5-2. Loeffelman and Garmon both drove in runs with sacrifice flies.
Forte led Rockhurst's 10-hit attack with three hits. Cole Wagner added two hits.
Jackson Dearing (1-2) held Gannon to one earned run on four hits with three strikeouts over 5.0 innings.
The Hawks (9-3) play Tiffin (Ohio) on Sunday, March 9 in Orlando, Florida at 9:30 am. ET.
