Women finish eighth at Saint Mary meet

The Rockhurst women's track and field team finished in eighth place with 16 points at the Spire Distance Carnival & Team Challenge Saturday at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Leah Heck finished third and broke the school record in the triple jump at 35-05.25. Ellie Beck came in seventh and broke the school record in the 400 meters in 1:01.59. Alexis Borum placed 17th and set a personal best in the 1500 in 5:02.05, which ranks second best in school history.
