The Rockhurst women's track and field team broke nine school records at the Central Methodist University Invitational Friday in Fayette, Missouri.

Carrington Hessen won the 5,000 meters in a time of 17:56.65 and broke the school record with a second-place finish in the 1,500 meters in a time of 4:48.51.

The 4x100 relay team finished third in a school-record time of 48.79 and the 4x400 relay team placed fourth in a school-record time of 3:57.98.

Riley Jahner (100), Thea Smith (200), Ellie Ochs (100 hurdles), Leah Heck (triple jump) and Jayla Smith (shot put and discus) also broke school records.
