Men defeat Roosevelt, LeMoyne-Owen in three sets

Rockhurst Men's Volleyball won a pair of matches in three sets on Saturday in Rolla, Missouri, defeating Roosevelt (25-19, 25-15, 25-20) and LeMoyne-Owen (25-11, 25-12, 25-15).

After Saturday's wins, the Hawks have now won seven of their last eight and move to 14-10 overall in their inaugural season. The Hawks' last six wins have ended in three sets.

Against Roosevelt, Lucas Tran led the Hawks with 14 kills. Shay Spadaro had 12 kills, three blocks, an assist, four digs and a team-leading five service aces.

Tyler Bittel led the Hawks with four blocks while adding a service ace. Tyler Zippay had 33 assists and a service ace as Beau Cecil had a team-leading seven digs. 

As a team, the Hawks had 41 kills, seven service aces, six blocks, 37 assists and 27 digs against the Lakers.

In their match against LeMoyne-Owen, Cecil led the Hawks in kills (nine) and service aces (seven). Cecil and Billy Harms also added six assists. 

Harms, Carter Wilson and Daniel Mekonen each had a block, as Zippay recorded a team-leading 22 assists and recorded two service aces. 

Spadaro and Bailey McCue tied for the team-lead in digs with four. 

Against the Magicians, Rockhurst collected 38 kills, 13 service aces, three blocks, 35 assists and 18 digs.
