Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Hawks win two against Central Christian

The Rockhurst men's volleyball team won both matches in three sets against Central Christian on Saturday in McPherson, Kansas. The Hawks won 25-11, 25-16 and 25-16 in the first match and 25-14, 25-10 and 25-11 in the second match.

Rockhurst has now won four out of its last five matches and nine out of its last 10. Also, the last eight wins have ended in three sets.

In the first match, Max Tkachev and Tyler Bittel each led the team with 10 kills. Nate Barton had a team-leading two service aces while Bittel and Daniel Mekonen both had two blocks.

Tyler Zippay's 15 assists led Rockhurst, while Billy Harms and Barton both tied for the team lead in digs with four.

Rockhurst had 42 kills, 11 service aces, four blocks, 38 assists and 20 digs.

Lucas Tran had 10 kills to lead Rockhurst in the second match. Nathan Jacques had a team-leading five service aces.

Mekonen and Barton both had two blocks. Riley Brown's 15 assists led the team. Tkachev and Tran each had a team-leading four digs.

Rockhurst collected 40 kills, 13 service aces, four blocks, 38 assists and 18 digs.
