Baseball rallies for 17-10 win at McKendree

Adonis Forte and Michael Laudando combined for six hits and six RBI to lead Rockhurst to a 17-10 victory over McKendree Friday in Lebanon, Illinois.

Rockhurst (4-2) rallied to score six runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to take a 17-8 lead. The Hawks, who trailed 6-3 after four innings, finished with 16 hits.

Forte posted three hits and drove in four runs with a two-run double in the third and a two-run single in the seventh. Laudando tallied RBI singles in the fifth and sixth while totaling three hits.

Matthew Brimacombe and Drew Cornelison each collected two hits and drove in two runs. Brimacombe had a two-run double in the sixth and Cornelison added a two-run single in the seventh.

Avery Garmon collected two hits and hit a sacrifice fly. Patrick Wind posted a solo home run in the fourth.

Brendan Rodis (1-0) came out of the bullpen to hold the Bearcats to two runs on three hits over 3.2 innings.

The Hawks play a doubleheader at McKendree Saturday and a doubleheader at Lincoln on Sunday.
