Hawks drop home game to Lincoln

Five Lincoln players scored in double figures to carry the Blue Tigers to an 83-64 victory over Rockhurst on Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Rockhurst began the game on a 9-2 run, but Lincoln answered with a 17-3 run to take a 19-12 lead at the 12:09 mark. The Blue Tigers took a 42-31 lead into the half.

The Hawks climbed to within 10 at 74-64 with 2:15 left after consecutive three-point baskets by Jesse White and Nick Arensberg. Lincoln (18-7, 10-7 GLVC) closed the game on a 9-0 run.

White led the Hawks with 22 points. Jaylen Wesley had 18 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Brian Hawthorne added eight points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Rockhurst shot 34.5 percent (20-of-58) from the floor and 28 percent from three (7-of-25). The Hawks also shot 81 percent (17-of-21) from the free-throw line.
