The Rockhurst men's volleyball team fell in four sets to Maryville on Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.
During the first set, Rockhurst jumped out to an 8-2 lead. The Saints climbed to within two at 12-10 before a 5-2 Rockhurst run pushed the Hawks' lead to 17-12. Rockhurst had a 22-21 lead late in the first set before finishing on a 3-1 run to win 25-22.
Maryville (5-5) won the final three sets (25-21, 28-26 and 25-22) to win the match.
Lucas Tran led Rockhurst with 22 kills, and added two blocks and eight digs.
Nathan Jacques had a team-leading 49 assists and added three service aces, a block and nine digs.
Shay Spadaro had 13 kills, 12 digs, a service ace and an assist. Leading the team in blocks was
Daniel Mekonen with four.
Aron DeRoy also tied for the team lead with three service aces and added eight kills.
Rockhurst had 58 kills, seven service aces, six blocks, 53 assists and 40 digs.Â
