Malterer leads Hawks to 96-40 win at home

Massi Malterer posted 18 points, eight rebounds and three steals to lead Rockhurst to a 96-40 victory over Calvary Monday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Malterer scored 10 consecutive points to key a 12-0 run that gave the Hawks a 21-8 lead.

The Hawks ended the first half on a 9-0 run and took a 49-22 lead into the break. Jaylen Wesley (10) and Jaden Flournoy (eight) combined for 18 first-half points.

Rockhurst began the second half on a 19-2 run to take a 68-24 lead with 15:42 left.
 
Wesley notched 15 points and three rebounds. Flournoy had 12 points and six rebounds. Drenin Dinkins tallied 11 points with 7-of-7 shooting from the free-throw line. Tyler DeGroote (11) and Peyton Newbern (7) combined for 18 rebounds.

Rockhurst shot 52.8 percent (38-of-72) from the floor and connected on 26.7 percent (4-of-15) from the three-point line. From the free-throw line, Rockhurst shot 64 percent (16-of-25).
