Hawks fall short at home to Missouri Western

Missouri Western pulled away in the final three minutes to rally for a 78-74 victory over Rockhurst on Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Griffons (9-2) ended the game on an 11-2 run and outscored the Hawks, 43-37, in the second half.

Jaylen Wesley scored a career-high 33 points, including notching 20 first-half points. He also scored the Hawks' first eight points and 10 of their first 12.

Drenin Dinkins tallied 16 points and five rebounds. Jack Scott scored six points and had a team-high 11 rebounds. Peyton Newbern and Micah Deaver both scored eight points.

The Hawks shot 47.1 percent (32-of-68) from the floor and made 5-of-23 from the three-point line. Rockhurst tallied 36 rebounds.
