Late rally pushes Hawks past Lions, 94-86

Dillon Mong led a late 9-0 run to spark Rockhurst to a 94-86 win over Missouri Southern on Tuesday night in Joplin, Missouri.

Mong scored five of his career-high 19 points in the final two minutes and 16 seconds. Mong drained a 3-pointer and made a a layup to give the Hawks a 90-86 lead with 1:34 remaining. Jaylen Wesley and Drenin Dinkins each made two free throws in the final 1:11 to close out the game-ending 9-0 run.

Wesley finished with 25 points, nine rebounds, three assists and one block. Dinkins scored 21 points, the third consecutive game where he's scored 20 or more. Dinkins also tallied seven rebounds, one assist and one steal.
 
Jaden Flournoy collected nine points and five rebounds. Mong added four rebounds and two assists.

In the first half, Rockhurst outscored Missouri Southern 47-36 and had their largest lead of the game, 39-26. with 4:05 left in the first half.

Rockhurst shot 53.3 percent (32-of-60) from the floor and 45 percent (9-of-20) from the three-point line. The Hawks also shot 72.4 percent (21-of-29) from the charity stipe.
