Second-ranked Washburn rallied to post an 85-81 victory over Rockhurst Wednesday night in Topeka, Kansas.
Rockhurst took a 79-74 lead after a free throw by
Drenin Dinkins with 2:29 left. The Ichabods finished the game on an 11-2 run.
Jaylen Wesley capped a 29-11 run with a free throw to put Rockhurst up 76-73 with 3:49 left.
Jaden Flournoy (eight), Dinkins (six) and
Landon Eiland (six) combined for 20 points during the run.
Dinkins led the Hawks with 26 points and six rebounds. Wesley scored 21 points with three rebounds and three steals. Flournoy also had six rebounds.
Dillon Mong tallied his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Micah Deaver collected eight rebounds and six assists.
The Hawks shot 41.1 percent (23-of-56) from the floor and 45.8 percent (11-of-24) from the three-point line. Rockhurst also collected 32 rebounds and 11 assists.
