Overtime goal ends Hawks' tourney run

Rockhurst's run in the GLVC Men's Soccer Tournament ended in the semifinals with a 2-1 loss in overtime to Maryville Thursday at the Creve Coeur Soccer Park in St. Louis.

Top-seeded Rockhurst, 12-4-3, will now await the announcement of the NCAA Division II Championships on Monday, Nov. 17.

Maryville, 11-6-2, scored the winning goal with 2:07 left in the first overtime period. The Saints' Axton Anom scored his second goal of the game on a breakaway shot from 14 yards. Anom's first goal came in the  20th minute.

The Hawks tied the score at 1-1 at the 58-minute mark on a goal by Immanuel Wayoro. The sophomore forward scored his eighth goal of the season on an eight-yard shot with an assist from Jack Dean.

Rockhurst finished with 11 shots (one on goal). The Hawks had six shots in the second half. Maryville posted 11 shots (six on goal).

Mattia Petricca and Wayoro led the Hawks with three shots apiece. Caden Hoehns and Blake Barrick each had two shots. Stefano Camerlengo made three saves.
