The Rockhurst University women's tennis team wrapped up play in the ITA Midwest Regional Championships on Monday in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Ella Coleman won five matches and advanced to the finals in Flight A. Coleman won three of her matches in straight sets and won two matches in three sets. She lost in the finals in three sets to Grand Valley State's Natasha Sengphrachanh.

Coleman will advance to the ITA Cup next week, Oct. 16-19, in Rome, Georgia.

Sofia Valdespino won her first-round match and lost in the Round of 32 to Davenport's Amy Black in three sets in Flight A.

Maria Baez won three matches and advanced to the quarterfinals in Flight B. Baez lost to Sofia Cardenas of Indianapolis in two sets in the quarterfinals. Elisa Nunez won her first-round match and lost in the Round of 32 in three sets in Flight B.

On the doubles side, Coleman and Zuzanna Szmyd won their first-round match over Quincy and then lost to Indianapolis in the Round of 16 in Flight A. Valdespino and Marina Magai also advanced to the Round of 16 in Flight A, defeating Illinois Springfield before falling to Walsh.

In Flight C doubles, Nadia Kaewsai and Cecilia Ulrich defeated Tiffin and then fell to Hillsdale in the Round of 16.
