Cripe leads Hawks to 3-1 win at Upper Iowa

Kaden Cripe scored two goals to lead Rockhurst to a 3-1 victory over Upper Iowa Sunday in Fayette, Iowa. The Hawks remain in first place the GLVC standings with a 5-0-2 conference record.

Cripe tied the score at 1-1 in the 23rd minute on a five-yard shot into the lower right of the goal off a cross from Asier Olano. Blake Barrick also assisted on the goal. Cripe gave the Hawks a 2-1 lead in the 62nd minute when he headed in shot in front of the goal off a left cross from Barrick for his fourth goal of the season.

Barrick added an insurance goal on a 10-yard shot in the 89th minute for his third goal of the season. Sam McIntosh and Immanuel Wayoro assisted on Barrick's goal.

Rockhurst finished with 12 shots (eight on goal), while Upper Iowa posted 10 shots (seven on goal). Cripe, Barrick, Wayoro and Rhys Laws led the Hawks with two shots apiece.

Franco Briani Brunoro posted five saves.

The Hawks (6-2-2) return home to play Quincy on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
