Women sweep Drury in home opener

Mary Kate Mulvaney and Molly Trachta combined for 36 assists to lead Rockhurst to a 3-0 win over Drury in the Hawks's home opener Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Rockhurst won the first and third sets by 25-20 scores, while taking the second set, 25-15. After the Panthers took a 17-16 lead in the third set, the Hawks used a 9-3 run to end the match.
  
Sarah Pyle led Rockhurst in kills (13) and digs (11). Mulvaney had 19 assists and eight digs. Trachta had a team-leading two service aces and 17 assists. Avery DeLong tallied eight kills with a .538 hitting percentage. Delaney Hope collected eight kills and three blocks.

Rockhurst recorded 43 kills, 44 digs, three service aces, six blocks, and 39 assists.

The Hawks (9-5, 2-0 GLVC) host Southwest Baptist on Saturday at 3 p.m.
