Pyle records 1,000th kill in three-set victory

Sarah Pyle recorded her 1,000th career kill in set one on the way to a game-high 21 kills in leading Rockhurst to a 3-0 victory over Southwest Baptist Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House. 

Pyle posted her 1,000th kill during a 6-0 run as the Hawks rallied for a 25-21 win. She became just the 11th player in program history to reach that mark.

Rockhurst went on to win the second set, 25-19, and the third set, 25-18. Rockhurst is now 3-0 in conference play, their best GLVC start since 2019.

Molly Trachta led the Hawks in assists (21) and service aces (three). Mary Kate Mulvaney tallied 14 assists and eight digs. Chloe Tyrrell totaled seven kills and seven digs. Katie Vargo added seven digs and six assists.

The Hawks collected 48 kills, 47 digs, 45 assists, seven service aces, and three blocks.

Rockhurst (10-5) travels to Quincy on Friday for a 6 p.m. match.
