Early goal leads Hawks to 800th all-time victory

The Rockhurst Hawks shut out the Lewis Flyers, 1-0, Friday night in Romeville, Illinois to become the 15th school to post 800 victories in men's college soccer.

Rockhurst has been playing men's soccer since 1964 and is the second winningest Division II program behind East Stroudsburg. The win ended a seven-game losing streak to the Flyers.

Immanuel Wayoro scored his fifth goal of the season in the fifth minute for the only score of the night. Wayoro found the right corner of the net off a loose ball in the box.

Rockhurst finished with three shots (all on goal), while Lewis posted 11 shots and 16 corner kicks. Wayoro, Jack Dean and Blake Barrick each tallied one shot on goal. Franco Briani Brunoro posted one save.

The Hawks (5-2-2, 4-0-2 GLVC) play at Upper Iowa on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
