Hawks collect 3-1 road win over Prairie Stars

The Rockhurst women's volleyball team won their fourth consecutive match and eighth out of their last nine with a 3-1 win at Illinois Springfield on Saturday.

The Hawks move to 5-0 in conference play for the first time since 2019.

Rockhurst won the first set, 26-24, before taking the second set, 25-12. Springfield won the third set 25-16 before the Hawks won the deciding set, 25-19.

Sarah Pyle led the Hawks with 15 kills, 10 digs and six service aces. Delaney Hope collected 15 kills and a team-leading three blocks. Chloe Tyrrell added 13 kills and 12 digs.

Molly Trachta recorded 27 assists and two service aces. Katie Vargo tallied 15 digs. Mary Kate Mulvaney added 19 assists.

The Hawks collected 54 kills, 64 digs, 49 assists, eight service aces, and four blocks.

Rockhurst (12-5) travels to the Midwest Region Crossover next weekend, Oct. 17-18, in Hammond, Indiana.
