The Rockhurst men's basketball team posted an 88-71 win over Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday in St. Louis, Missouri.
Rockhurst (11-4, 5-2 GLVC) used two second-half runs to help put Saturday's game in the win column. A 5-0 run gave the Hawks a 46-42 lead with 12:18 to go and a 10-2 run pushed the Hawks' lead to 65-57 with 7:07 left.
UMSL (6-7, 4-2 GLVC) went on a 7-0 run to take a 17-10 lead with 8:57 left in the first half. The Hawks used a 5-0 lead to cut the UMSL lead to 19-18 at the 6:38 mark. A 7-2 run by the Tritons with 1:51 left in the first half allowed USML to build a 32-29 halftime lead.
Five Hawks scored in double figures with Jesse White leading the Hawks with 27 points and six three-point baskets. Brian Hawthorne had 20 points with four rebounds and five assists. Nick Arensberg collected 17 points with four threes.
Daniel Carr scored 11 points with eight rebounds. Jaylen Wesley added 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.
The Hawks shot 50 percent (28-of-56) from the floor and 48 percent (12-of-25) from the three-point line. Rockhurst was 87 percent (20-of-23) from the free-throw line.
