No. 4 Kearney rallies for 3-1 win over Hawks

Fourth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney held off upset-minded Rockhurst to post a 3-1 victory over the Hawks Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks collected 23 kills to win the first set, 27-25. Kearney won the second set, 25-19, and overcame set point to win the third set, 28-26. The Lopers rallied from a 16-14 deficit to win the fourth set, 25-20.

Tera Reberry led the Hawks with 17 kills and seven blocks. Kenzie Hines posted 11 kills and 15 digs. Sarah Pyle tallied nine kills and 19 digs. Ali Olson had eight kills and a team-high 11 blocks.

Sarah Montague finished with 32 assists, nine digs and four service aces. Molly Trachta totaled 18 assists and nine digs. Maureen Reilly added 13 digs.

Rockhurst finished with 62 kills, 71 digs and 14 team blocks. The Hawks held Kearney (11-0) to a .203 hitting percentage.

The Hawks (6-3) open conference play at home against sixth-ranked Missouri-St. Louis on Friday, Sept. 27.
