Hawks split pair at Drury Invitational

The Rockhurst volleyball team split their two matches on day two of the Drury Invitational Friday in Springfield, Missouri.

The Hawks fell in four sets to seventh-ranked Southwest Minnesota State (22-25, 25-17, 25-21, 27-25) and came back to post a 3-0 victory over Newman (25-16, 25-16, 25-9).

Sarah Pyle led the Hawks with 18 kills, 20 digs and four blocks against Southwest Minnesota. Tera Reberry posted 17 kills and four blocks.

Kenzie Hines added 10 kills and 14 digs. Sarah Montague and Molly Trachta combined for 46 assists and 23 digs. Maureen Reilly tallied a team-high 28 digs.

The Hawks hit .320 in their win over Newman. Reberry led the team with 12 kills and a .706 hitting percentage. Pyle and Hines combined for 11 kills and 22 digs. Reilly added 13 digs.

Montague finished with 16 assists, six digs and four service aces. Trachta tacked on 14 assists. Rockhurst finished with 42 kills, 57 digs and 12 service aces.

The Hawks (4-2) meet Roosevelt on the final day of the Drury Invitational on Saturday.
