Men's Basketball adds 10 players to 2024-25 roster

First-year head coach Kyle Blackbourn has announced the addition of five transfers and five freshmen to the 2024-25 men's basketball roster.

"We are very pleased how this group came together. We were able to sign an outstanding group of young men who will excel at Rockhurst University on and off the floor," Blackbourn said.

"We have added a mixture of leadership, skill, experience, size and scoring. On top of all their great qualities on the court, we were able to sign 10 student athletes with high character that are excited to represent Rockhurst University. I can't wait to get started with them."

Jesse White – The 6-2 graduate senior guard has scored over 1,000 points in his college career. White played the past two seasons at the University of Tampa. He averaged 11.0 points per game and connected on 40.2 percent of his 3-point shots last season. White tallied 19.0 points per game as a freshman at Central Wyoming College. The Portland, Oregon native finished his prep career as the fifth all-time leading scorer in Oregon prep history.

Daniel Carr – The Hawks signed Carr last year, but the 6-9 forward had to sit out the 2023-24 season with an injury. Carr averaged 13.0 points and 10.2 rebounds in four seasons at Division III Augustana College. The Highlands Ranch, Colorado native was a three-time All-Conference and two-time All-Region standout at Augustana, in addition to earning CSC Academic All-America honors.

Jaden Flournoy – This 6-6 junior forward will add depth to the frontline. Flourney averaged 9.9 points and 4.2 rebounds at Division II Elizabeth City State University last season. He played his freshman year at Iowa Western Community College after earning All-District prep honors in Texas at South Grand Prairie High School.

Jaylen Wesley – One of the top junior-college stat stuffers last season, Wesley averaged 25.5 points and 10.4 rebounds per game at South Mountain Community College. The 6-4 junior guard scored over 1,000 points in two seasons at South Mountain. Wesley was an All-State player at McClintock High School.

Massi Malterer – This 6-2 junior guard from Madison, Wisconsin, was a third team All-American at Johnson County Community College last season. Malterer averaged 16.5 points on 52.1 percent shooting while also earning All-Region and Jayhawk All-Conference first team honors in 2023-24.

Dillon Mong – A two-sport athlete at Shawnee Mission East High School, Mong played football his freshman year at the University of Kansas. The 6-7 basketball standout was a second team All-State and first team All-Sunflower League selection in his senior year.

Micah Deaver – A 6-1 freshman guard from Olathe East High School was named the Olathe Player of the Year. Deaver was named first team All-State and All-Sunflower League. He scored a school record 49 points in a game and played in the Kansas and DiRenna All-Star games.

Abdoulaye Kante – This 6-8 forward from Shawnee Mission East High School was a DiRenna All-Star Game selection. A native of Bamako, Mali, Kante received second team All-Sunflower League honors in his senior year.

Quincy Thomas – A two-time All-Conference standout, Thomas graduated from Rockwood Summit High School in St. Louis as one the top players in school history. The 5-11 freshman guard ranks in the top five in scoring, rebounds, assists and steals in school history. He also earned All-District honors in his senior year.

Aidan Page – A 5-11 guard from Bishop Seabury High School in Lawrence, Kansas, Page was an All-State honorable mention and second team All-Kaw Valley League player in his senior year.
