Rockhurst announces Student-Athlete of the Year winners

The Rockhurst University Male and Female Student-Athletes of the Year for 2023-24 were announced Tuesday night at the Student-Athlete Hawk Choice Awards at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Jake Canent was named the Mark Sappington Male Athlete of the Year. Canent is a senior pitcher on the baseball team. He currently leads the GLVC in wins (9) and ranks fourth in the conference in saves (6).

Maureen Reilly was named the Taylor Skala Female Athlete of the Year. Reilly is a senior libero on the women's volleyball team. She was named the GVLC Libero of the Year for the second year in a row and led the nation in total digs (688).
