Power display leads Hawks to 14-4 victory

Andrew Loeffelman and Adonis Forte combined for two home runs and six RBIs to power Rockhurst to a 14-4 victory over Truman State Sunday at Loyola Park.

Loeffelman gave the Hawks a 4-3 lead in the fifth with a three-run homer to left-center. Forte cleared the wall in right-center for a two-run homer to key a seven-run explosion in the sixth.

Patrick Wind and Drew Cornelison added solo home runs in the sixth and seventh. Avery Garmon singled home two runs and Matthew Brimacombe hit an RBI triple in the sixth.

Michael Laudando, Forte and Brimacombe each collected two hits as the Hawks posted 14 hits in the final three innings.

Jake Canent pitched the final 3.1 innings to collect his eighth win of the season.

The Hawks (20-12, 12-8 GLVC) begin a four-game series at 17th-ranked Maryville on Friday afternoon.
