Michael Laudando pitched a complete game seven-hitter and drove in two runs to lead Rockhurst to a 6-2 victory over 14th-ranked Maryville in the first game on a GLVC doubleheader Saturday in St. Louis, Missouri. The Hawks rallied to win the second game, 12-8.
Laudando (6-2) held the Saints on one earned run over 7.0 innings and struck out five. He posted RBI singles in the first and third innings.
Dakota Hanna drove in two runs with a solo home run in the second and an RBI groundout in the third. Laudando, Matthew Brimacombe and Peyton Clerk each collected two hits.
In the second game, the Hawks scored five runs in the seventh to overcome a one-run deficit. Avery Garmon drove in two runs with a single. Brandon Hebrank added a run-scoring single and Austin Murray Forte scored on a fielding error.
Adonis Forte led the 11-hit attack with three hits. He hit an RBI double in the fourth and added a solo home run in the sixth. Drew Cornelison and Hanna each had two hits.

Jake Canent pitched the final 1.1 innings to collect his ninth win of the season. Freshman Brendan Rodis held the Saints to four runs on six hits over 5.0 innings.
Maryville won the first game of the series on Friday, 14-7. The Saints scored eight runs in the seventh and eighth innings. Cornelison hit a three-run home run in the fifth.
The Hawks (22-13, 14-9 GLVC) close out the series at Maryville on Sunday afternoon.
