No. 14 Saints hold off Hawks in series finale

Maryville jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the fourth inning and held on for an 8-6 victory over Rockhurst in the final game of a four-game conference series Sunday in St. Louis, Missouri.

The 14th-ranked Saints collected 12 hits off five Rockhurst pitchers. Maryville hit a pair of two-run home runs in the first and seventh innings.

Adonis Forte led the Hawks with two hits and three RBIs. Austin Murray posted two hits with an RBI double. Matthew Brimacombe added two RBIs.

The Hawks (22-14, 14-10 GLVC) return home to play Washburn at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
