Forte powers Hawks to 17-10 win at Indianapolis

Adonis Forte connected on three home runs and drove in six runs to lead Rockhurst to a 17-10 victory over Indianapolis Saturday in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Hawks won the series, 3-1, after dropping the series opener on Thursday.

Forte hit a three-run home run to center in the second, smashed a two-run shot to center in the fifth and added a solo homer to right-center in the seventh to give the Hawks a 12-7 lead.

Matthew Brimacombe drove in five runs with a grand slam to right-center in the eighth and an RBI single in the second.

Michael Laudando had three RBIs with a pair of run-scoring doubles. Avery Garmon posted three hits with a solo homer in the third and an RBI double in the sixth.

Jake Canent (7-1) allowed three runs on five hits over the final 3.1 innings.

The Hawks (16-12, 8-8 GLVC) return home to host Washburn on Tuesday afternoon.
