Schmid leads Hawks at NSIC Preview Invite

Caleb Schmid led the Hawks with a 36-hole score of 146

The Rockhurst men's golf team finished in third place at the NSIC Preview Invitational Tuesday at the Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri.

The Hawks shot a 304 on the second day to finish with a 36-hole score of 594. Winona State won the team title with a 582 score.

Caleb Schmid led the Hawks, tying for 12th place at 146. Schmid shot a 72 in the first round, while making three birdies on the front nine and a birdie on the 14th hole. He fired a 74 in the second round and shot a 35 on the front nine with three birdies.

Ben Elgas tied for 16th place at 147. Elijah Shirley tied for 23rd at 150, followed by David Schilp in a tie for 23rd at 152 and Andrew Park tied for 47th at 155.
