Fast start leads Jewell past Hawks

William Jewell jumped out to a 20-point lead in the first 12 minutes on the way to posting an 82-50 victory over Rockhurst Saturday in Liberty, Missouri.

The Cardinals scored 30 points in the paint and connected on 15 three-pointers. Jordan Jermain led Jewell (16-8, 10-6 GLVC) with 25 points and five 3-pointers.

Timaris Brown led the Hawks with 11 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Nick Arensberg scored nine points on three 3-pointers. Nico Felici added seven points on three-of-seven shooting.

Rockhurst shot 36.8 percent from the field (21-of-57) and made eight three-pointers. The Cardinals shot 53.6 percent from the field (30 of 56).
