Second-half shooting carries Hawks past Quincy

Rockhurst exploded for 59 points in the second half to pull away for a 100-79 victory over Quincy Thursday night in Quincy, Illinois.

The Hawks shot 62.4 percent from the field and connected on 10 three-pointers in the final 20 minutes. Miles White and Jake Auer combined for 35 points on 10-of-13 shooting in the second half.

White led the Hawks with 24 points and four assists. The sophomore guard drained eight-of-10 field goals, including hitting five-of-seven 3-pointers.

Auer tallied 23 points, four 3-pointers, eight rebounds and three steals. Timaris Brown posted 19 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Brian Hawthorne added 11 points and two steals.

Rockhurst shot 54.4 percent from the field (31-of-57) and made 13-of-26 three-point field goals (50.0 percent). Quincy shot 47.3 percent from the field (26 of 55).

Zion Richardson led Quincy (10-10, 6-6 GLVC) with 33 points and nine rebounds.
