Men clinch tournament berth with 3-1 road win

Rockhurst clinched a berth in the upcoming GLVC Tournament with a 3-1 victory over Missouri S&T Sunday in Rolla, Missouri.

The Hawks (6-8-2, 6-6-2 GLVC) earned the No. 8 seed and will face top-seeded Lewis next Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Romeoville, Illinois.

Kaden Cripe opened the scoring in the 19th minute when he deflected a Sam McIntosh shot into the net for his first goal of the season.

Immanuel Wayoro gave the Hawks a 2-1 lead with his third goal of the season in the 33rd minute on a 12-yard shot off a pass from Jacopo Belardo. Blake Barrick scored his sixth goal of the season on a six-yard shot that crossed the goal line in the 84th minute.

Rockhurst outshot the Miners, 16-9. Barrick led the Hawks with five shots and four shots on goal. Cripe posted three shots on goal. Luca Zallo and Cristoforo LiCavoli each had two shots.
