First-half shooting leads Hawks to 106-67 win

Rockhurst used a 56-point first half to cruise to a 106-67 win over Missouri Southern Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House. Friday's win was Kyle Blackbourn's first career home win as the Rockhurst men's basketball head coach.

The Rockhurst win was also the first 100-point game since Feb. 1, 2024, when they scored 100 in a win against GLVC foe Quincy.

Rockhurst began the game on a 7-0 run. A 12-0 run extended their lead to 46-19 with 4:55 left in the first half. The Hawks scored 50 points in the second half.

Four Hawks finished in double figures in points, including Jesse White and Daniel Carr who each had 21. Jaden Flournoy had 12 points and eight rebounds as Jaylen Wesley scored 11 points.

Carr tallied 11 rebounds to record his first double-double of the season. Brian Hawthorne collected eight points, eight rebounds and seven assists. 

Rockhurst shot 52 percent (39-of-75) from the field, 44.1 percent (15-of-34) from three and had 54 rebounds.
