Hawks finish third at Oklahoma Christian meet

Ian Klapper came in second in the 100 breaststroke

The Rockhurst men's swimming and diving team finished third with 639.5 points at the Eagle Invitational in Edmond, Oklahoma. The Hawks posted three first-place finishes, five seconds, five thirds and set seven school records at the Eagle Invitational.

The team of Omar Usama, Mohannad Nada, Adam Hamdy and Omar Abla finished third and broke a school record with a time of 1:30.91 in the 200 medley relay.
Usama won the 50 freestyle in a school-record time of 19:93 and came in second in the 100 free.
The Hawks came in second in the 200 free relay with Hamdy, Nada, Alexandre Adum and Usama, while breaking the school record (1:21.79).
Hamdy won the 100 butterfly in a school-record time of 47.92.
Nada posted third-place finishes in the 200 and 400 individual medley, and the 100 and 200 breaststroke. He broke the school mark in the 100 breast prelim (54.82).

Abla and Omar Mohsen placed first and fourth in the 200 freestyle.
Ian Klapper came in second in the 100 breaststroke and fifth in the 200 breaststroke.
Mohsen finished fourth in the 200 freestyle, and placed fifth in the 500 and 1650 freestyle, breaking the school record in the 1650 (16:36.65).
The 400 freestyle relay team of Hamdy, Nada, Usama and Abla came in second place while breaking a school record (3:01.68).

The Hawks return to the pool on Jan. 17 at Truman State in Kirksville, Missouri.
