Hawks earn team, individual CSCAA academic awards

The Rockhurst men's and women's swimming & diving teams were selected as Scholar All-America Teams for the Spring 2025 semester by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

To earn this prestigious honor, teams were required to achieve a grade point average of 3.00 or higher during the Spring 2025 semester. The CSCAA selected 763 teams from 432 institutions as Scholar All-America Teams for the Spring 2025 semester.

Rockhurst had four men (Ali Usama, Omar Abla, Ian Klapper and Mohannad Nada) and one woman (Laetitia Bouc) earn Spring Individual Scholar All-America awards from the CSCAA.

Usama received Scholar All-American first team honors. Abla, Klapper, Nada and Bouc were named to the second team.

To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections, must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.

Usama, a sophomore from Alexandria, Egypt, was a GLVC champion in the 50 freestyle and competed at the NCAA Nationals. He broke the school records in the 50 and 100 freestyle, and the 200 backstroke.

Abla, a sophomore from Alexandria, Egypt, holds the school records in the 200 and 500 freestyle.

Klapper, a sophomore from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, came in 10th place in the 100 breaststroke at the GLVC Championships.

Nada, a sophomore from Alexandria, Egypt, broke the school records in the 200 and 400 individual medleys.

Bouc, a graduate student from Karlsdorf-Neuthrad, Germany, holds the school records in the 100 and 200 butterfly. She finished sixth in the 200 butterfly at the GLVC Championships.
