First-half goal carries Lewis past Hawks, 1-0

The Lewis Flyers scored a first-half goal and held off Rockhurst in the second half to record a 1-0 victory over the Hawks Sunday at Bourke Field.

Flyer midfielder Cristian Perez connected on a shot from outside the box in the 30th minute for the lone goal of the day.

Rockhurst finished with six shots and three shots on goals. Asier Olano led the Hawks with two shots and one shot on goal. Dylan Ashford and Rhys Laws had shots on goal in the second half. Franco Brunoro posted three saves.

The Hawks (1-7-1, 1-5-1 GLVC) play at Truman State at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
