First-half barrage leads Hawks to 5-0 win at home

Rockhurst exploded for four goals in the first half on the way to collecting a 5-0 victory over Upper Iowa Friday night at Bourke Field.

Sam McIntosh scored the first two goals of the game and assisted on the Hawks' fifth goal. Blake Barrick finished with one goal and two assists. Cristoforo LiCavoli added one goal and one assist.

McIntosh gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute on a seven-yard on off passes from Barrick and LiCavoli. McIntosh came back 12 minutes later to score on a 12-yard shot off a cross from Rhys Laws.

Barrick converted on a 15-yard shot off a cross from Jacopo Belardo in the 20th minute. Freshman Immanuel Wayoro tallied his first collegiate goal on a 15-yard shot late off a pass from Belardo in the first half for the Hawks' fourth goal. LiCavoli capped the scoring in the 55th minute on an eight-yard shot with assists from McIntosh and Barrick.

Rockhurst finished with 17 shots and 13 shots on goals. Franco Brunoro posted his first shutout of the season while making one save.

The Hawks (1-6-1, 1-4-1 GLVC) host Lewis at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
