Hawks close out home schedule with 4-0 win

The Rockhurst men's soccer team closed out their home schedule with a 4-0 victory over Southwest Baptist Sunday on Senior Day at Bourke Field.

Senior Connor Brummett opened the scoring on a penalty kick in the 21st minute. Blake Barrick made it 2-0 six minutes later on 12-yard shot off passes from Asier Olano and Sam McIntosh.

The Hawks added two goals late in the second half. Daniele Bizzarri headed in an eight-yard shot with assists from Olano and Barrick in the 73rd minute. In the 87th minute, freshman Octavio Miranda drilled a header in front of the net off a cross from Ozonna Ogbaja.

Rockhurst outshot the Bearcats, 20-7. Barrick led the Hawks with five shots. Jacopo Belardo collected three shots. McIntosh and Rhys Laws added two shots apiece. Franco Brunoro made three saves in 56 minutes.

The Hawks (4-8-2, 4-6-2 GLVC) play at Lincoln Friday night.
