Belardo powers Hawks to 2-0 win over Jewell

Jacopo Belardo scored two goals to lead the Rockhurst men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over William Jewell Sunday at Bourke Field.

Belardo found the nets in the 24th minute on a seven-yard shot inside the right post. Sam McIntosh and Rhys Laws assisted on the goal.

The Hawks took a 2-0 lead in the 72nd minute on Belardo's fifth goal of the season on a 15-yard shot. Jewell countered with their only goal two minutes later on an 18-yard shot by Zach Nichols.

Rockhurst posted 11 shots and three shots on goals. Belardo and Immanuel Wayoro led the Hawks with three shots apiece. Franco Brunoro made two saves in the Hawks' 14th consecutive win over Jewell.

The Hawks (3-7-2, 3-5-2 GLVC) host Drury Friday night.
