Hawks earn 14 Team Academic All-GLVC honors

Volleyball led the Hawks with a 3.86 team GPA, tied for second among all GLVC teams.

Fourteen of Rockhurst's 15 athletic teams earned the 2022-23 Team Academic All-GLVC Award. The GLVC recognizes each team from member institutions that have maintained a 3.30 grade point average for the academic year.

The total of 162 honorees from 13 league schools did not reach the 2019-20 record-breaking total of 207 from 15 schools but did surpass the previous record from 2018-19 of 152 from 14 schools.

The Hawks were led by their volleyball team with a 3.86 GPA, followed by women's soccer with a 3.81 GPA. The other 12 Rockhurst teams to receive the award were women's basketball (3.76), women's cross country (3.74), women's tennis (3.72), softball (3.69), women's golf (3.65), women's lacrosse (3.63), men's cross country (3.61), men's soccer (3.57), men's golf (3.55), men's tennis (3.43), baseball (3.36) and men's lacrosse (3.33).

Rockhurst posted the highest team GPA in the GLVC in volleyball, women's soccer, women's basketball, men's cross country, and men's soccer. The RU softball, women's lacrosse and men's lacrosse teams posted the second highest team GPA in their respective sports in the GLVC. Volleyball tied for the second highest team GPA among all teams in the GLVC.

Of the 162 honored programs, 110 came from women's sports and 52 from the men's side.
