Hawks earn second seed in GLVC Tournament

The Rockhurst men's tennis team earned the West Division's second seed in the GLVC Tournament after posting a 4-3 victory at Quincy on Saturday night.

The Hawks (12-7, 3-1 GLVC) will face the East's third-seeded Maryville Saints (4-10, 3-2 GLVC) in the GLVC Tournament quarterfinals on Friday at 1 p.m. ET in Indianapolis.

After falling behind 1-0 in doubles at Quincy, Rockhurst went 4-2 in singles play. Semyon Tsyrenov and Josef Truhlar won in three sets in No. 3 and 5 singles. Agustin Cortes and Felipe Castellanos were two-set winners in No. 3 and 4 singles.

Cortes and Castellanos won their No. 3 doubles match, 6-2. Quincy won No. 1 and 2 doubles, 6-3 and 6-4.
